Anthony D’Alessandro

Anthony's approach to lighting design is grounded in how people actually live and move within their homes. With an Engineering degree in Product Design from Stanford University, he has a strong foundation in designing solutions with technical rigor and thoughtful execution. His experience as a Navy officer shaped his leadership style and ability to navigate complex environments. Working as an engineer at Applied Materials took him around the world, troubleshooting advanced systems and building relationships across diverse cultures. He later co-founded a consulting company focused on high-performing teams and delivering exceptional client experiences, a philosophy he now brings to every project at Lighting by Design.

As Managing Director, Anthony blends engineering precision with creative insights, guiding clients toward lighting decisions that feel intentional, elevated, and perfectly suited to how they live.

Paul Mihranian

Paul brings decades of hands-on experience and deep industry relationships to Lighting by Design. Having immersed himself in the lighting world since his teens, Paul founded the company in 1988 and has been a respected leader in the industry ever since. His extensive knowledge and long-standing connections continue to shape the company today.

Outside the office, his years playing club soccer internationally reflect his energy, discipline, and global perspective. Clients and partners alike value his expertise and commitment to excellence. Together with the team, Paul helps ensure Lighting by Design maintains the highest standards of design and client service the company has built over nearly four decades.
