Anthony D’Alessandro

Anthony's approach to lighting design is grounded in how people actually live and move within their homes. With an Engineering degree in Product Design from Stanford University, he has a strong foundation in designing solutions with technical rigor and thoughtful execution. His experience as a Navy officer shaped his leadership style and ability to navigate complex environments. Working as an engineer at Applied Materials took him around the world, troubleshooting advanced systems and building relationships across diverse cultures. He later co-founded a consulting company focused on high-performing teams and delivering exceptional client experiences, a philosophy he now brings to every project at Lighting by Design.

As Managing Director, Anthony blends engineering precision with creative insights, guiding clients toward lighting decisions that feel intentional, elevated, and perfectly suited to how they live.

Paul Mihranian

Paul founded Lighting by Design in 1988, bringing decades of hands-on experience and deep industry relationships to the company. Having immersed himself in the lighting world since his teens, Paul led Lighting by Design for nearly four decades as a respected voice in the industry.

Outside the office, his years playing club soccer internationally reflected the energy, discipline, and global perspective he brought to the firm. While Paul retired from active operations in 2026, the strong foundation, high standards, and commitment to exceptional client service he established continue to shape our work and guide our team today.
